29 young people choose to dedicate their summer to volunteering in Palencia.

29 young people from the Archdiocese of Madrid and the Diocese of Palencia have decided to spend their summer differently by taking part in a volunteer work camp in Palencia.

Instead of dedicating their holidays solely to rest and relaxation, they have chosen to put their time and abilities at the service of others. Organized into different teams, the young volunteers accompany people who are ill or have disabilities and spend time with older people. One of these groups is carrying out its work at the Hermanas Hospitalarias healthcare and social care center, where the young people are welcomed and supported by Sister Cristina.

For one of the volunteers, this experience is an opportunity to discover the value of giving oneself to others:

“I am very grateful. Every day is a gift and something new that teaches me something and gives me something from the Lord. Volunteering is a response to a call I have received to give back to others what I have received freely and, above all, lovingly.”

It is an experience of service and encounter that reminds us that dedicating our time to others can transform both those who receive and those who give of themselves.
