On October 12, Hospital Hospitality Mission Week begins, an initiative that invites us to live out and renew together the meaning of our mission. This journey will culminate on October 18, with the celebration of the 100th World Mission Sunday.
This celebration is an opportunity for the whole Church to unite in prayer for missionaries and for the fruitfulness of their service and evangelizing mission. This year, Hospital Hospitality Mission Week invites us to live this experience from a perspective that is especially meaningful for our Hospital Hospitality family: “One in Christ, United in Mission.”
The unity of the Church is born from communion with Christ and becomes a reality through a shared mission. In this mission, Sisters and collaborators are called to place our gifts, abilities and dedication at the service of others, especially people who are sick, vulnerable and in need.
Together with the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, we share the same spirit of Hospitality and a common call to follow Jesus by placing ourselves at the service of those who need it most.
During these days, we will be united in prayer to strengthen our communion and renew our commitment to the mission. We will also hear testimonies from Sisters and collaborators, bringing us closer to different experiences and ways of living Hospitality in everyday life.
We are many faces, stories, cultures and places, but one mission: united in Christ to make Hospitality present.
The Pope’s Prayer
Holy Father, grant us to be one in Christ, rooted in his love that unites and renews. May all members of the Church be united in mission, docile to the Holy Spirit and courageous in bearing witness to the Gospel, proclaiming and embodying your faithful love for every creature each day. Bless the missionaries, support them in their efforts and preserve them in hope. Mary, Queen of Missions, accompany our evangelizing work in every corner of the earth; make us instruments of peace and may the whole world recognize in Christ the light that saves. Amen.
