Meeting of local Superiors of the Congregation

On the Path of Revitalization. Service of Animation and Hospitable Governance.

Meeting of local Superiors of the Congregation

Within the program of the General Government, and as a commitment of the 22nd General Chapter, “to promote a spiritual and charismatic governance, paying special attention to the sisters who are beginning in the service of animation and leadership,” the meeting of local superiors of the Congregation is being held.
This meeting will take place in Madrid, Spain, during the month of May, in two different groups.

From May 3 to 10, a group of 24 local superiors from 7 circumscriptions are participating in the first of the meetings of Local Superiors at the congregational level, under the theme: “ON THE PATH OF REVITALIZATION: service of animation and hospital governance.”
They will be accompanied by the Superior General, Sister Idilia Mª Carneiro, along with two other sisters from the General Government: Mª Begoña Pérez and María Carmen Martín, Vicar and Second Councilor, respectively.

On May 3, the journey began with the arrival of the participants at the “Fray Luis de León” Conference Center in Guadarrama, Madrid.

On May 4, Sr. Idilia María welcomed all those present, encouraging them to be open to undertaking a process of revitalization and restructuring in the daily aspects of their lives.

The morning session was led by Begoña Martínez, from the ADSIS Communities Movement. She challenged participants to live in a spirit of movement, fostering two key attitudes: an attitude of openness to surprise and an attitude of appreciative awareness toward our communities.

The celebration of the Eucharist was presided over by Brother Jesús Etayo of the Order of St. John of God, Superior of the Province of Spain, who offered words of closeness inspired by the hospitable charism, recalling our founders.

The day concluded with a shared prayer, based on the commitment that each sister wishes to assume in the service of animation within her community.

The Wisdom of Frailty: Celebrating the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly

The World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly invites us to recognize the value, dignity, and wisdom of older adults. At the Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we renew our commitment to providing holistic care that brings together science, charity, compassionate accompaniment, and hope, always placing the person at the centre of our mission.

29 young people choose to dedicate their summer to volunteering in Palencia.

Instead of devoting their vacation solely to rest, they have chosen to put their time and skills at the service of others. Organized into different teams, the young people provide companionship to the sick and those with disabilities, and spend time with the elderly.

Small Gestures We Never Forget

In our mission, hospitality is not always expressed through extraordinary events. More often, its greatest transformative power is found in the simplest acts. That is why, in the Congregation of the Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we reaffirm that true hospitality is lived out in everyday life.
