María Josefa Recio on the path to sainthood

The Cardinals and Bishops of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome approve the heroic virtues of the Congregation’s Founder, María Josefa Recio.

The Ordinary Session of Cardinals and Bishops of the Congregation of the Saints of Rome took place as planned on the morning of 6 March 2012, and they voted on, and unanimously approved, the heroic virtues of the Congregation’s Founder, María Josefa Recio.

Sister María Preciosa Silverio, Postulator General of the Congregation announced the news in these words:

“It is with immense and deep joy that I inform you of the happy news of the approval of the heroic Christian virtues lived out by our dear Sister María Josefa Recio Martín; let us praise and give thanks to the Lord for his grace and for all of the wonders he did and continues to do through her, his faithful Servant”.

The path is now clear for MARÍA JOSEFA RECIO MARTÍN to be declared venerable by Pope Benedict XVI.
