Today we introduce you to Cláudia Isabel Sobreiro Antunes who works in the Coordination of Identity, Health Pastoral and Lay Hospitallers in the Sisters Hospitallers of Portugal.

📌 How long have you been part of the Sisters Hospitallers?

I have been part of the Sisters Hospitallers for 7 years and a few months. I started working as a Spiritual Assistant in the Psychiatric Clinic of St. Joseph for 6 years, and then I joined the coordination of Identity, Health Pastoral Care and Lay Hospitallers.

📌 What is your purpose, your mission in helping the Sisters Hospitallers?

From what I am experiencing and living, my purpose, my mission to help the Hospitaller Sisters, is to truly “collaborate” with the Congregation. It is a matter of putting to use the gifts, the skills I have been given, in the service of the Hospitaller mission.

📌 Why is the care of the sick integral?

Care for the sick is holistic because the various disciplinary areas intervene for the greater good of the person being cared for, who is the centre. The therapeutic process responds to the needs of the person assisted in all their dimensions, through specialised interventions in all areas. In particular, spiritual intervention, because the spiritual dimension is transversal to the whole person, as well as being a constituent part of the hospital’s mission.

Thank you Claudia for your testimony of hospitality and for being part of our history!

We are a #Hospital Family spread throughout the world 🌍: a community of professionals, Sisters, volunteers and benefactors, united by the value of hospitality.
