Two Commissions at the service of hospitaller revitalization

From June 19 to 24, 2025, two general commissions, the Restructuring Commission and the Spirituality Commission, met in Rome.

General Restructuring Commission, coordinated by Sister Begoña Pérez, Vicar General, and made up of sisters from different regions of the world:

  • Angèle Marie Awizoba (France)
  • Anabela Moreira G. Carneiro (Portugal)
  • Matilde Porras González (Spain)
  • Angélica Cleofé Flores García (Latin America)
  • Julia S. Pedro (Philippines)

General Commission for Spirituality and Charism, coordinated by Sister Idília Maria Moreira, Superior General, composed of:

  • Mª Concepción Ochotorena Elorz (Spain)
  • Laurinda Martins de Faria (Portugal)
  • Josefa A. Serrano Romero (England)
  • Teresa Vu Hoai Tram (Vietnam)

With a broad perspective and experience in diverse contexts, the sisters who form these Commissions are advancing on the path of reflection and discernment toward a proposal for a global process of revitalization, listening to the call of God and the Church, and in fidelity to the charism of Hospitality.

This path leads us to rethink restructuring from the perspective of the entire congregational “Body,” in a synodal Church and a changing world.

Both meetings were marked by a significant date: the feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga (June 21), the day that commemorates the departure of our Foundresses, María Josefa Recio and María Angustias Giménez, from Granada to Ciempozuelos. In that same founding spirit, today we continue to walk toward a consecrated life of constant conversion, listening, and dedication.

We entrust to our Foundresses the steps of Hospitality in this chapter process, illuminated by the motto “Clothe yourselves with compassion” (Col 3:12). “Prophetic signs of hope and of God’s closeness to suffering humanity.”

May their witness as women who sought God continue to encourage us to live with boldness, faith, and hospitality.
