The Call of Laudate Deum

Today on World Environment Day, we seek to internalise the words of the Holy Father in his apostolic exhortation Laudate Deum ‘Our concern about climate change goes beyond a merely ecological approach, because our care for one another and our care for the earth are intimately linked.’

In the midst of our daily work, we discover the traces of God in all creation. Hospitality is also lived by seeking and finding God in our brothers and sisters and in our Earth, collaborating with ecological sustainability through good environmental practices in our centres and communities. Pope Francis is a great defender of the environment, and this exhortation comes to us as an urgent call to action. On this day, we reflect on how we can contribute individually and collectively to the protection of our planet, remembering that every action counts in the preservation of our common home.

Let us remember that small changes in our lifestyles can make a big difference to the health of our planet and the well-being of future generations. Let us do our part to care for and preserve the environment for all!
