“Josefinas” Sisters 2020

Another year, our “mother home” in Ciempozuelos, Spain, is hosting a group of sisters from different continents, who have come together for the fifth year of temporary vows and approval for perpetual devotion to the Lord, within the Hospitaller life.

This is a fundamental time in the vocational process for all of the “Josefinas” sisters, which has, among other objectives, to achieve a harmonious integration between the human dimension and the spiritual dimension with its own charismatic elements.

The “Josefinas” come from different cultures, and they have in common that they are living the josefinato as a very special time that, in Ciempozuelos, puts them in contact with the sources of hospitality and prepares them to set out on their way. All of them are united in the firm desire to dedicate themselves to the service of the Kingdom of God in the religious hospital life.

The experience began on October 30, 2019, the anniversary of the death of Venerable María Josefa Recio, founder of the Congregation, and lasts until August 2, 2020, the anniversary of the death of María Angustias Giménez, also founder of the Congregation.
