In Communion and Service: Closing of the Charismatic-Spiritual Encounter

Las Hermanas Hospitalarias culminan el Encuentro Carismático Espiritual redescubriendo la belleza de la vida consagrada

“The Spirit urges us to rediscover the beauty of our consecrated life in the Church and to enter into a process of transformation that makes us witnesses of the compassion and mercy of Jesus, in fraternal communion and in hospitaller service.”
(Document of the XXII General Chapter)

In these days of congregational encounter, we have undertaken a more inward pilgrimage—from the sapiential rereading of life and the reception of the gift of Hospitality, to listening to the Word, allowing it to challenge us, and joyfully celebrating the bread broken and shared.

We have experienced the power of the Spirit in every encounter, in each word and gesture shared. The rereading of our charismatic texts—especially The Account of the Origins by María Angustias—has awakened in us the dream that our Communities might embody the attitudes described by María Angustias when speaking of the first Sisters: wonder, interiority, trust, and humility.

We concluded the encounter on the 15th, joyfully celebrating Saint Teresa of Ávila, patroness of the Congregation, filled with joy and gratitude. We carry in our hearts great hope for our daily lives. We bring back to our hospitaller communities the entire experience we lived and shared, embracing its fruits with hope and a renewed commitment to be builders of Peace and Fraternity through Hospitality.
