3 December: International Day of Persons with Disabilities – ‘Dreams Unite Us’

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is a key date to reflect on the importance of inclusion, equality and respect for diversity. On this day, we would like to share with all of you our new campaign ‘Dreams Unite Us’, an initiative that conveys a powerful message: despite our differences, dreams unite us as human beings.

The animated video that accompanies this campaign, made by the talented illustrator Santiago López (Samlo), aims to break stereotypes and paternalistic attitudes towards people with disabilities. Through a moving animation, it invites us to celebrate the authenticity of each person, the value of shared dreams and respect for the dignity and autonomy of all.

Through this campaign, we want to remember that everyone, without exception, has dreams. Whether big or small, those dreams are the force that drives and connects us. By sharing our dreams, we can transform our society, building a more inclusive, respectful and hospitable environment, where each person is valued for who they are.

For more than 140 years, we at Sisters Hospitallers have worked tirelessly to support people living with disabilities, mental illness and other challenges. Our mission has always been to provide comprehensive care, support and rehabilitation, promoting inclusion and dignity for the most vulnerable people.

This International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we invite you to reflect on the importance of valuing diversity, recognising that we are all equal in our humanity and that dreams make us equal. Like everyone else, persons with disabilities have aspirations and desires, and it is our responsibility to create a world where they can achieve them to the fullest.

We invite you to watch the video and join this campaign of reflection and action. Together, we can build a society where we all have the opportunity to dream and live fully, without barriers or limitations.
