Did you know that…? Fitness for the body and mind

Did you know that “Fitness for the body and mind” can help prevent declining cognition and functional diversity?

Learn more about how this project is being implemented in the Province of Portugal from Susana Rute & Liliana Márcia.

We are Susana Rute and Liliana Márcia, psychologists and collaborators at the Sisters Hospitallers’ Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana in Funchal, Portugal.

As psychologists at the clinic, we want to share the exciting details about the “Fitness for the body and mind” project, which began in January 2021, with funding from the BPI/LA CAIXA award.

The project, which will last for one year, is based on the comprehensive care of participants and the various elements that constitute their dignity, the foundation of the Hospitaller model.

Based on the actual needs of people with functional diversity, the project aims to stimulate their cognitive abilities and motor functions. Our goal is to limit the impact of cognitive and functional impairment.
