United in Prayer for Our Hospital Mission

As we begin the month of October, the missionary month, we entrust to God the mission we carry out throughout the world, in our various places of presence. We entrust to Him the entire Hospital Community, which, in such diverse ways, lives and expresses the charism, becoming a close presence of the compassionate and healing God of the Gospel.

We feel deeply united in our charism with the prayer intention of Pope Leo XIV for this month, in his invitation to pray “for pastoral care in mental health”, so that the Church may increasingly be an open home, capable of welcoming and accompanying those experiencing situations of psychological suffering. He also invites us to recognize these “silent wounds” and to build communities where every person can feel heard, respected and accompanied with tenderness.

As Hospital Sisters, this invitation connects us with the very heart of our mission: the charism and its evangelizing power in a world in need of hospitality, listening, care and accompaniment in times of vulnerability.

May God bless the mission of the Samaritan Church, of which we too are a face and a presence. May His Spirit guide us along paths of life and fidelity.

And, with Mary, may we make our “yes” a visitation, with our hearts clothed in mercy!
