In a new episode of the Let’s Talk About Mental Health podcast, we speak with Dr. Sofia Figueirinhas, a psychomotor therapist at the Centro Psicogeriátrico Nossa Senhora de Fátima (Sisters Hospitallers – Parede | Cascais), about her work in psychomotor interventions with older adults in institutional settings.

Specialized in geronto-psychomotor therapy, Sofia focuses on sensory stimulation and nonverbal communication to improve the well-being and quality of life of individuals undergoing both typical and pathological aging. In addition to being part of the facility’s multidisciplinary team, she also helps implement community programs such as the “Senior Brain Gym,” which promotes active aging and dementia prevention.
