On January 23, 2020, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Benoît Menni Mental Health Center of Hospital Sisters in Yaoundé (Cameroon).

The Benoît Menni Mental Health Center was created in 1994, according to the country’s civil and religious authorities, the Congregation was established in Yaoundé. In July 1994, a small room was rented in the Biyemassi neighborhood for psychiatric consultations; before building the Mental Health Center on the hill of Mvolyé.

The medical care that the center offers to patients aims to rehabilitate people with mental illness and contribute to reintegration into their social environment by demystifying their illness. This care is provided by a clinic, a day center for occupational therapy activities and by outpatient consultations.

This great work is achieved thanks to the human and professional delivery of:

– Four sisters, nurses specializing in Mental Health

– Three nurses specializing in mental health, and two general nurses

– Five people dedicated to the administration area.

– A center director.

– A psychiatrist doctor.

– A neurologist.

– A psycologist.
