This recognition highlights the project\u2019s significant impact on promoting active aging and preventing dementia, blending technology and humanized care for fuller longevity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"1197\"><strong data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"618\">What is Exercogs\u00ae?<\/strong><br data-start=\"618\" data-end=\"621\" \/>Exercogs\u00ae is a therapeutic tool that integrates physical exercise, cognitive stimulation, and social interaction into a single activity. Developed by a multidisciplinary team from the Aging and Dementia Department of <strong data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"880\">Sisters Hospitallers Idanha | Sintra<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Institute for Systems and Robotics of the Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico, this project uses augmented reality and gamification techniques for clinical support. Its innovative approach aims to improve the mental and physical health of older adults, enhancing their quality of life and autonomy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1199\" data-end=\"1580\">The development of Exercogs\u00ae went through several stages, from research and planning to conceptualization, design, and prototyping. Usability tests were conducted with a group of users, along with scientific validation through an experimental study involving 204 participants over the age of 65. The results showed significant improvements in cognitive, physical, and social areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1867\">This award recognizes the commitment of <strong data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"880\">Sisters Hospitallers<\/strong><strong data-start=\"1622\" data-end=\"1657\">\u00a0Portugal<\/strong> to technological innovation and its positive impact on health. It inspires us to continue transforming lives and developing solutions that integrate science, technology, and the humanized care that defines us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1869\" data-end=\"2292\">The TOP Health Awards ceremony took place at the Lisbon Commercial Association and was attended by the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, as well as representatives from the public, private, and social sectors, healthcare professionals, and academics.
