Pope Francis received our new Superior General together with the new General Council and sisters who constitute our Congregation’s Chapter Assembly, in a meeting in which they reflected on the value of hospitality in light of the reality of people suffering from mental illness or disability.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the audience, they reflected on the value of hospitality in light of the reality of people suffering from mental illness or disability. In this context, the Pope commented: \u201cAt the beginning of your days there are two exciting stories, in which we can see how the audacity of founders and foundresses, under the action of the Holy Spirit, can accomplish great works, launching themselves where charity calls, without making too many calculations, with the \u2018holy madness of love\u2019. And if love is lacking, we are finished!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Superior General of the Congregation, Sr. Id\u00edlia Maria Carneiro, thanked the Holy Father for his listening, encouragement and accompaniment and emphasized: \u201cWe shared a very moving and beautiful moment. The Pope welcomed us with his smile. I asked for his blessing for the Congregation, especially for this new stage of service with people with mental illnesses and disabilities\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also revealed that they shared a nice moment when they gave the Pope a gift prepared by a group of children from the Purisima Concepcion Foundation of Granada. \u201cIt was really a very funny moment, because the gift represented the different stages of the Pope’s life. It was there when Francis, upon seeing the representation of himself, asked: \u201cIs this me?\u201d, \u201cWell done, very good\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Chapter is almost over! This May 26th there will be a closing Mass that will open the way to a renewed path of Hospitality in favor of people with psychic suffering, accompanied by the blessing of Francis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
