{"id":50824,"date":"2020-03-04T11:21:58","date_gmt":"2020-03-04T11:21:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hospitalarias.org\/en\/?p=50824"},"modified":"2020-03-04T11:21:58","modified_gmt":"2020-03-04T11:21:58","slug":"sister-asuncion-riopedre-constitutional-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hospitalarias.org\/en\/sister-asuncion-riopedre-constitutional-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Sister Asunci\u00f3n Riopedre: Constitutional Review"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>My name is Asunci\u00f3n Riopedre, a Sister Hospitaller from the Province of Italy and member of the Commission tasked with preparing and promoting the project to review and update our Constitutions. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalarias.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/IMG-20190409-WA0010-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Sister Asuncion Riopedre talking about the Constitutional Review\" class=\"wp-image-50826\" width=\"343\" height=\"257\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the 21<sup>st<\/sup> General Chapter, held in Rome in June 2018, the decision was made to undertake <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalarias.org\/en\/review-of-constitutions-methodology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"the Constitutional Review (se abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">the Constitutional Review<\/a> process based on a \u201cProposal\u201d presented at the Chapter that included work done by all the sisters of the Congregation in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we review the milestones of the Constitutions, we find that the changes implemented have been a response to the needs and challenges of the life and mission of the Congregation. <strong>Today, we take up the task of reviewing the Constitutions, driven by a desire to address, in creative faith, the practice of hospitality, welcoming ecclesiastical, socio-cultural, and political change, the development of theology and human sciences, the deepening\/systematisation of our spiritual heritage, and the organisational and management demands of<\/strong> the apostolic work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following process is guided by a desire to\nimprove. To do so, we embark on a path of spiritual renewal, which serves as a\ncontinuous learning opportunity for the entire Congregation, in each of the\nsisters. It is important to note that we are dealing with a \u201cbook\u201d that\ndetermines the identity, values, criteria, and lifestyle of the Congregation.\nTherefore, it is the duty and the right of each and every one of the sisters to\nparticipate, individually and as a community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In an effort to define and facilitate the process, the path is broken down into four stages: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Informing all the sisters of the need to review the Constitutions, consulting them about the issues relevant to the process: the topics and items to be reviewed and the methodology applied. The \u201cProposal\u201d presented at the 21<sup>st<\/sup> General Chapter was compiled from the information obtained and, having accepted the proposal presented, the Chapter decided to review\/update the Constitutions.
