St. Benedict Menni: Pilgrim of Hope

St. Benedict Menni (1841-1914) dedicated his life to hospitality and service to the most vulnerable. He restored the Order of St. John of God in Spain and, moved by the situation of mentally ill women, founded the Congregation of the Sisters Hospitallers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1881.

Hospitality in action: Project “We are like you”

The Sisters Hospitallers’ We Are Like You project in Liberia addresses critical mental health challenges in a country marked by extreme poverty, the aftermath of civil war and a lack of health infrastructure. With a holistic approach, this program not only provides specialized care for women with mental illness, but also works on anti-stigma awareness, professional training and community reintegration.
