Sister Idília María Carneiro, appointed by Pope Leo XIV to the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life

It is with great joy that we announce that Pope Leo XIV has appointed our Superior General, Sister Idília Maria Carneiro, as a member of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

With this gesture, Pope Leo XIV reaffirms the fundamental role of consecrated life in the Church and on the peripheries of the world, highlighting its ability to embody the Gospel where human dignity is most fragile. From the charism of hospitality, the presence and care of people with mental suffering.

For the entire family of the Sisters Hospitallers, this appointment by the Holy Father is a source of profound joy and gratitude, and we renew our commitment to a consecrated life that, through hospitality, continues to make Christ’s merciful love present in the world.
