SOLIDARITY AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION PLAN 2021 – 2024

Continuing with the work previously carried out by the General Government International Solidarity and Cooperation Service, and responding to the objective set in Practice Hospitality – Document of the XXI General Chapter: “To promote solidarity and international cooperation in the Institution”, carry out a set of initiatives aimed at the transition of the Hospitaller Sisters towards a “fruitful solidarity” that goes out to meet those who live in need and take care of our “common home”, managing resources responsibly and effectively.

At the beginning of 2020, the Commission for Solidarity and Development Cooperation was created, a body led by Sr. Begoña Pérez, as General Councilor responsible for this area, and made up of representatives of the Benito Menni Foundation, the Province of Portugal, the Province of Latin America. and the Province of Spain.

The first task of this Commission has been the design and preparation of the Solidarity and International Development Cooperation Plan 2021 – 2024 of the Institution, whose beginning has been the diagnosis of the starting situation, carried out in 2019, through an online survey to those responsible for solidarity in each Province.

In February 2021, the General Government approved the Plan that defines objectives, activities and monitoring indicators for three areas of action: Internal organization and coordination between the different agents involved, Project management: solidarity, cooperation and sustainable development, and Communication and sensitization.

During the month of March, several webinars have been organized to present to those responsible for solidarity in each Province, the content and purpose of the Plan, as well as the actions scheduled for 2021.
