How to become a Sister Hospitaller?

Vocation is a gift of grace and a missionary commitment for everyone. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the vocation of humanity is to show the image of God and to be transformed into the image of the Only Son of the Father. This means that each person is destined to attain divine happiness, and also that this vocation affects the whole human community.

This is how we live it in our vocation as Sisters Hospitallers. In a world dominated by the culture of discarding, exclusion and death, we want to be witnesses to the Risen One. We allow ourselves to be challenged by the pain of the sick and we respond with closeness, listening, understanding, attention and service.

Our founders, like Venerable Mª Josefa Recio, embodied in an exceptional way the maternal face of God’s mercy. She witnessed the divine tenderness and motherhood of God, representing the Good Samaritan with the delicate touch of a woman.

If you feel called to let yourself be carried away by the same audacity as our founders, to dare, to risk – dare, risk! – for the sake of the brothers and sisters God puts in your path, as Pope Francis shared with us in audience with the Capitular Sisters, we invite you to get to know us. We can be with you and help you on this journey through accompaniment, the experience of sharing a few days with a community of sisters and to know in first person the hospitaller mission.

You only have to contact us through this email: consejera3@hscgen.org

We invite you to join us in prayer for vocations to Hospitality:

Lord, give us bowels of mercy in the face of all human misery. Inspire us with the gesture and the opportune word in front of the lonely and helpless brother. Help us to show ourselves available to those who feel exploited and depressed. May your Church, Lord, be a place of truth and love, of freedom, justice and peace, so that all may find in it a reason to continue to hope. May we who seek you know how to discern the signs of the times and grow in fidelity to the Gospel; may we be concerned to share in love the anguish and sadness, the joys and hopes of all human beings, and thus show them your way of reconciliation, forgiveness, peace….
