On this International Nurses’ Day we share with you the testimony of Lydia Fosu, a nurse in Dompoase, Province of England, who tells us about her Hospitaller mission:

How long have you been a member of the Sisters Hospitallers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus?

I have been a member of the Sisters Hospitallers for 8 years.

What is your goal, your mission in helping the Sisters Hospitallers?

To let others know that help exists and that no one is ever alone.  And so, sharing the common vision and mission of the Sisters Hospitallers, I have the mission to care for others, especially the vulnerable and excluded, wherever I am, as much as I can, just as Christ did for me.

What added value does participating in the project of the Sisters Hospitalleres bring to your life?

I now see happiness in a different way. I realise that being kind or having compassion beautifies your heart.  There is also an inexplicable sense of inner satisfaction knowing that at the end of the day I have helped someone in need, even if I have endured a lot of stress in the process.

Thank you Lydia for your service and thank you to all the nurses in the Hospitaller Family!
