First Profession of Two Sisters in Condeixa, Portugal: a “Yes” Born of Love

In an atmosphere of deep gratitude and communion, the community of Condeixa (Portugal) has witnessed a moment of grace: the First Profession of our sisters Judith Kabré and Suchita Dungdung.

These two young women, coming from diverse cultural backgrounds, are a living sign of a Congregation called to be a prophetic witness of hope and of God’s closeness to humanity. Their “yes” is not only a personal step; it is a testimony that interculturality is a richness that builds harmony in diversity and broadens the horizons of our Hospitality.

“The holy madness of love”

By consecrating their lives, Judith and Suchita have responded to that boldness which Pope Francis, in his message to our Chapter, called the “holy madness of love.” Like Mary—the first Hospitaller—they have made their own the words of total self-giving: “Let it be done to me according to your word” (Lk 1:38), trusting in a God who invites us to take risks and not to be afraid to give our lives for others.

Today, with particular strength and relevance, the words of our founder, Saint Benito Menni, echo among us, reminding us that this vocation is born of a love that “knows no limits and does not know how to say enough”: “Happy, a thousand times happy, the souls whom the Lord calls with such great mercy.”

We share in the joy of our sisters and give thanks to God for this step of generous self-giving. We pray especially for them, that they may offer themselves each day with freedom and trust, and that they may persevere faithfully on the vocational path to which the Lord has lovingly called them.

May their witness continue to be a light, a source of hope, and an encouragement for other young people who seek the meaning of their lives and their place in the Church and in the world.
