April is a very special month for the Hospitaller community, as we are not only celebrating the Feast of Saint Benedict Menni, but also the start of our long-awaited General Chapter. It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome this time marked by Hospitality, discernment and prayer. We invite you to join us day by day and be part of this great Hospitaller celebration.
About the General Chapter
At the end of this month, on 24 April, we will begin our General Chapter, the body that represents the Congregation and exercises authority collegially on matters related to our life and mission.
We come from an Extraordinary General Chapter, which took place in 2022 with the aim of studying and approving the revised text of our Constitutions. This year we meet again to define a path for the next 6 years, in a moment that should be marked by prayer and discernment: what do we expect as a Congregation for the next 6 years?

On the Feast of Saint Benedict Menni
It is a real grace that on the day the Chapter begins we also celebrate the Feast of our founder, Saint Benedict Menni, whose legacy of service and hospitality will guide us in the Chapter process we are undertaking.
With this special intention, and for the intentions of each community, centre or home, we will join in a novena to St. Benedict Menni which will begin on 16 April. The novena offers us an opportunity to reflect both on his life and his dedication to the service of the sick and marginalised, as well as on the meaning of the motto of the XXII General Chapter “Clothe yourselves with Mercy”.
We invite you to join us in prayer, asking for the intercession of our founders Saint Benedict Menni, the Venerable María Josefa Recio and María Angustias Giménez Vera, so that this month may be marked by Hospitality, unity and commitment to our mission.
