Congregational Encounter: A Time to Rekindle Hope

Jubileo Vida Consagrada

Following the ecclesial experience of the Jubilee of Consecrated Life, held under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope. Along the Path of Peace,” we continue this journey together during these days of congregational encounter, allowing ourselves to be accompanied by the Lord on the road to Emmaus—a path that today reflects our reality as consecrated women and as a congregational body.

Inspired by the charismatic experience of our origins, we are invited to reread our vocational journey in the light of the Word and the Eucharist, lived and celebrated in daily service. In a spirit of fraternity, prayer, and discernment, we prepare to renew our dedication through Hospitality, the core of consecrated Hospitaller life.

The encounter is shaped around three key pillars:

  • The rereading of life’s journey as a space of wisdom and gratitude for the traces of God that guide our personal and congregational history.

  • The faithful listening to the Word, a source of inner conversion, spiritual renewal, and fidelity to the charism.

  • The Eucharist as both celebration and commitment, a sign of the shared bread that unites the sisters in the healing mission of Jesus.

Led by Superior General Sr. Idília María Carneiro, along with sisters such as Sr. Concepción Ochotorena and Sr. Nicole Mayinga, the participants are experiencing days of deep communion and reflection, seeking to rekindle the hope that springs from God’s merciful love.

As Saint Benedict Menni once expressed:

“The Lord delights in favoring those who feel their poverty, their misery, their unworthiness… because all their rest is in God, our Father, who has come to seek the miserable, the souls who recognize themselves as sick and crippled.”

From this certainty, we move forward in trust, sustained by the Lord’s grace—called to serve, to love, and to look at life with a compassionate and contemplative gaze, so as to continue being witnesses of God’s mercy and love in the world.
