Sisters M. Begoña Pérez and M. Carmen Martín, General Government Councillors, together with Sister Soshy James Soman, Councillor of the Delegation Government, carried out the Canonical Visitation to the communities and centres in the Philippines.
The purpose of this visitation is to rekindle in every Sister fidelity to the charism and spirit of our Founders, strengthen the bonds of fraternal communion, and encourage our apostolic service. Its motto is: “On the path of revitalisation, returning to the heart.”
The Canonical Visitation offers an opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the life and mission of each of our communities. From 12 July, when the visitation began, until 26 July, we accompanied the communities and centres in Cebu, visiting both of our presences there: St Joseph and Kasambagan.
Throughout these days, we shared moments of encounter, dialogue, and reflection with the Sisters. We also became more familiar with the reality of the centres, meeting their staff and the people entrusted to our care. Both centres provide services for people living with mental health conditions and/or disabilities.
As a sign of communion with the local Church, we also had the opportunity to visit Archbishop Alberto Sy Uy of the Archdiocese of Cebu.
We are carrying out this Canonical Visitation in communion with the entire Congregation, as part of the Revitalisation process we are living, with the desire to continue walking together, strengthening our charismatic identity and renewing our commitment to the service of our mission.
