Based in Madrid, the Foundation currently has active projects in twelve countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. The projects promoted by the BMF offer a series of services that respond primarily to the problem of mental health in a comprehensive manner: raising awareness to combat ignorance and stigma; giving psychosocial support for personal rehabilitation; and offering care devices, medicines and qualified personnel where they are most needed, especially in countries with little or no health coverage.

Thanks to this, the Foundation’s work contributes to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Especially to the achievement of SDG 3, on health and well-being, SDG 5 on gender equality, and SDG 10 “Reduction of inequalities”.

Likewise, the Foundation promotes the creation of a solidarity commitment through the International Volunteering program, training and sending volunteers to different countries; and the Sponsorship program, which seeks to support access to education for low-income children.
