Benedict Menni Foundation

Solidarity and Cooperation

The Benito Menni Foundation is the international solidarity initiative of the Hospital Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Its mission is to promote the universal right to health and to support the most vulnerable populations in developing countries, particularly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Founded in 1986 and based in Madrid, the Foundation channels the Congregation’s hospital mission into development cooperation and humanitarian aid projects, bringing hope and care where they are needed most.

What We Do

Our mission is carried out through projects and initiatives that place people at the center:

  • Mental health care and support for individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Health promotion and professional training
  • Social inclusion programs and community empowerment
  • Emergency response and humanitarian aid

Every action is guided by the values of hospitality: welcome, respect, service, and solidarity.

Global Impact

The Benedict Menni Foundation coordinates projects in more than 20 countries across four continents. Thanks to its network with the Hospital Sisters, local organizations, and international volunteers, thousands of people receive care, support, and training every year.
