Meeting of the General Commission for Restructuring

From September 15 to 20, 2026, the General Commission for Restructuring-Revitalization is meeting at the General Government headquarters in Rome.

Coordinated by Sister María Begoña Pérez, Vicar General, the Commission is made up of other sisters from different regions of the world: Sister Anabela Moreira G. Carneiro (Portugal), Sister Juliana S. Pedro (Philippines), Sister Angèle Marie Awizoba (France), and Sister Matilde Porras González (Spain).

This meeting takes place within the second stage of the Congregation’s Restructuring-Revitalization process, whose motto is “SCRUTINIZE.” The aim is to learn to look at reality through God’s eyes and from the perspective of the Hospitalary charism, while also recognizing the challenges facing the world today.

This stage involves analyzing the reality of the sisters’ communities, governments, and residences for elderly sisters, as well as the apostolic works and centers. The purpose is to know and understand this reality in order to discern where and how the sisters can continue their mission, responding to the needs of today’s world.

This perspective is not merely sociological. Above all, it is a way of looking at reality from God and from the needs of the world, in order to respond to them.

Within this framework, the Commission’s objective is to synthesize all the information coming from communities, governments, and residences, in order to scrutinize the challenges, difficulties, opportunities, and all the elements that can help discern future paths.

The entire process is guided by a spiritual journey: the attraction of Jesus. Just as our Foundresses allowed themselves to be guided by this attraction and responded to God’s call through Hospitality, today’s sisters are also called to let themselves be led by Him, discovering how to continue living out and embodying the charism in new realities.
