If Mary Wrote to Today’s Young People: Three Messages from the Heart of the First Hospitaller

If Mary were writing to young people today, she would probably leave them with three simple invitations: “Do not be afraid. Serve with joy. Trust.” Three messages that continue to inspire the Hospitaller Family to live Hospitality with hope, especially alongside those who suffer the most.

“Do not be afraid”

Mary teaches us not to turn our gaze away from suffering, but to draw close to those who need us most, following the example of the Good Samaritan: to see, to be moved with compassion, and to act.

“Serve with joy”

Hospitality is a way of life expressed through listening, closeness, and service. Young people are called to place their energy and creativity at the service of the most vulnerable.

“Trust”

In a world marked by uncertainty, Mary invites us to trust in God and to be signs of hope. Every gesture of welcome, care, and solidarity can transform the lives of those who suffer.

United in the Same Mission

Mary’s message remains an invitation for everyone: do not be afraid, serve with joy, and trust. Hospitality needs young people who are willing to bring hope wherever life is most vulnerable.
