Missionary Hospitaller Week is a week to renew our missionary commitment and share the Hospitaller charism throughout the world. During these days, the Sisters Hospitallers intensely live the call to “go out to meet,” sharing our faith, our dedication, and our service to the most vulnerable.
The motto “Missionaries of hope among peoples” reminds us of our vocation to be bearers of hope through the Hospitality that defines and identifies us.
Called to be a merciful presence among the needy men and women of our time, Jesus sends us to continue his ministry of hope, bending down like the Good Samaritan “before every poor person, afflicted, desperate, and oppressed by evil, to pour on their wounds ‘the oil of consolation and the wine of hope.’” (Pope’s Message for the 19th World Missionary Day 2025)
Hospital Missionary Week culminates on October 19 with the celebration of World Mission Sunday, a day that the Church dedicates each year to supporting the work of missionaries in places where the Gospel and solidarity are most needed.
World Mission Sunday invites us to remember that we are all part of the same universal mission: to care for, serve, and proclaim God’s love with concrete gestures of hospitality.
