Provincial Chapter in the Province of Italy

The Provincial Chapter of the Province of Italy was held from 3-8 November at the General House in Rome, presided over by the Superior General, Sr Idília Carneiro, and accompanied by the General Councillor, Sr Mª Carmen Martín. During these days, the sisters reflected on the call to renew hospital service, seeking ways to respond with mercy and commitment to the current needs of those we serve. This period of deep reflection, prayer and discernment, under the motto ‘Clothe yourselves with the bowels of mercy’, was part of the dynamics of renewal inspired by the 22nd General Chapter of the Congregation, which seeks to align each provincial community with the teachings and hospitaller spirit of our founders.

New Provincial Government

As a result of this process of discernment, a new Provincial Government has been constituted to guide the Province of Italy in this new phase:

  • Provincial Superior: Sr. María Asunción Riopedre Villa
  • Provincial Council:
    • 1st Councillor: Sr. Belinda Z. Abapo
    • 2nd Councillor and Secretary: Sr. Miranda-Rosellina Colacino
    • Bursar: Sister Maria Agnese Malgieri

With gratitude and hope, the Province of Italy unites in prayer that the inspiration of our founders may continue to enlighten and guide this journey. May their legacy impel us to serve with hospitality, love and mercy in every community where the Sisters Hospitallers are present.
