“I end this circular announced that, for the year 2021, we will not support a specific solidarity project, but that donations from the communities and also, where possible, from the Centers, will go directly to the Benito Menni Foundation, who will be able to allocate the help to the different projects that are presented to them”.

This is how Sister Anabela Carneiro, Superior General of the Congregation of Sisters Hospitallers announced that, this year, it has been chosen as a solidarity project of the year to support the Benito Menni Foundation so that it can collaborate with the development projects of the different Centers of Sisters Hospitallers in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Cooperating is embracing

From the Foundation we invite you to collaborate under the slogan Cooperating is embracing. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we find ourselves physically far from each other, far from our loved ones, and many times, feeling alone. But we have also been able to discover other ways of being close: being supportive, helping, cooperating with those who need it most. For this reason, from the Benito Menni Foundation we understand that cooperating is embracing, it is being with others when they need it most, it is bringing hope, it is working together to guarantee mental health, education, opportunities for everyone, in all parts of the world. Cooperation unites us, cooperating we embrace each other.

The Benito Menni Foundation has worked since its creation in the field of Development Cooperation to guarantee the right to mental health of thousands of people who live in situations of marginalization and social exclusion in the countries of America, Africa and Asia where they are the local counterparts, that is, the Sisters Hospitallers.

With the support of professionals and volunteers, the Foundation promotes various cooperation projects that respond to the abandonment situation suffered by people with mental illness, humanizing psychiatric care and restoring their dignity. In addition, the Foundation supports projects that promote a quality education for boys and girls and training for young people.

The projects are framed along the following lines:

• Mental health consultations through mobile equipment or “antennas”.

• Rehabilitation of people with mental illness who live on the street.

• Improvement of mental health care conditions.

• Prevention, psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration of people suffering from mental illness and other pathologies.

• Quality education and training.

We encourage you to collaborate with the Foundation, in order to carry out the different projects. The work of cooperation brings us together. Cooperating is working together with others to achieve a common goal. It is about working together for a more just world, because cooperating is embracing.

For those who want to collaborate, they can make a donation with the concept “Cooperate is embracing” in the account of the Benito Menni Foundation ES91 0049 1834 11 2910177325 or in Bizum under the code 02732.
